Spanish letter: complaint about the delay of a flight.

 

Sres.:

El pasado viernes 22 de febrero realizamos un vuelo con su compañía en "business class", lo que lamentamos sinceramente.

A las 8.00 horas debíamos partir del aeropuerto de Gatwick en el vuelo XL0123 hacia Madrid y allí enlazar con el vuelo AB00032 con destino Sevilla.

Había un retraso de 2 horas del avión de Gatwick y como resultado perdimos la conexión. Siendo un viaje de ida y vuelta del mismo día y sin otros vuelos para Sevilla aquel día, toda la jornada se echó a perder.

Aún peor, nadie entre los empleados de Excel podía determinar los motivos de tanto retraso y no nos ofrecieron vuelos alternativos que salieron antes del nuestro.

Lamento tener que comunicarles que pediré indemnización por los perjuicios que nos ha ocasionado.

Dear Sir

Last Friday 22nd February we took a flight with your company in "business class", which we are now deeply regretting.

We should have taken off at 8 am from Gatwick airport on the flight XL0123 for Madrid and there we were to get a connection for Seville.

There was a 2 hour delay at Gatwick and as a result we lost the connection. As it was a day return flight to Seville and there not being any other flights for Seville that day, the whole day was lost.

Worse still, none of the Excel employees could tell us the reason for such a delay and neither were we offered the alternative flights that left before ours.

I regret to have to inform you that I shall be seeking compensation for damages.
